Dr. Kaufman is a board-certified gastroenterologist located in Clive, Iowa.
Dr. Kaufman is a Kansas native who graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Cleveland Clinic in 1984 and his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic in 1986, where he was Chief Fellow.
Dr. Kaufman is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. He has been in private practice in the Des Moines area since 1986.
Over the years he has been on numerous hospital committees and has chaired several hospital committees and departments. Dr. Kaufman was the first Iowa physician to incorporate the CRH O’Regan System for hemorrhoid removal into his practice in 2009. He has tremendous experience with this technique having performed well over 3,000 procedures and is now identified as a CRH preferred physician.
